Total Fashion - June 2009

Vacationing in Maine

June 27th 2009 17:41
Well, today is day two in Maine. I am staying with my family at Countryview on Route 1. It is lovely. I have to download the pictures off my cell phone to add tomorrow to this blog. I have seen many wonderful shops. We spent the mid-morning at Short Sands, playing in the water and the warm sand. I picked up a couple of shells to take back with us. Now I bet you are wondering what this has to do with fashion? Well, you should see the bathing suits. All shapes and sizes, all colors of the rainbow.

I was so excited to see many plus-size bbw showing their stuff today at the beach. Wonderful, beautiful big woman no matter where I looked. They were all decked out in skirtinis, tankinis and one piece sets. They were all tan and looking lovely.

Here at the motel there is a wonderful pool and from my deck I can see everyone sunning themselves out next to the pool. It has been a wonderful weekend, unfortunately, tomorrow I will be heading back to my office to write more on trendy fashions, but today is still young.

I will be, soon after I post this, taking my boys back out to the pool in one of my favorite bathing suits. I have a black one piece that has yellow and pink strips as straps and at the hips. Oh, I wish you all could join me here. Well, until tomorrow, follow the sun.

Louis Vuitton my favorite designer

June 25th 2009 16:01
I realize that I am primarily a plus-size fashion writer, however, I still love other fashion designers. My favorite is Louis Vuitton. He still amazes me. I have included in this post some of my favorite Spring 2009 photos.

I hope you enjoyed this peak into the world of Louis Vuitton.

New designer in the making

June 25th 2009 14:10
Have you checked out what this new designer is doing? DeenScene began in the summer of ’05 when 16 year old Naydeen “DeenScene” Thompson started creating colorful unique handbags for school. When others started noticing her designs they immediately began requesting bags for themselves. Shortly after, Naydeen started designing and making headbands, earrings, skirts and more in a wide array of styles to suite her circle of supporters. Whether your bold ‘n sassy or sweet ‘n classy, DeenScene has something to fit your personality. Check out her blog and see what she is up too lately.

BellesPlus.com review

BellesPlus.com Banner

Catherine Leteinturier contacted the Manchester Plus-Size eXaminer last week - me - and wanted to let me know about her site BellesPlus.com. She has been spending most of her free time on this plus-size site. Being a plus-sizer she knows how hard it is to find trendy fashions and she has made it her mission to seek out these stores through out the world - gathering them all on one site. She has fashion tips, articles, locations, blogs, contests and much more. This is definitely a place to check out. Just a side note: she is also looking for writers to assist in her information so any fashion writers want to drop her a line, she would appreciate it. Please, by all means, add a special store to her list and possibly win an iPod. What is so unique about this site is that you can find the sources in English and French. Very ingenious, indeed! All in all, this eXaminer found this site enlightening and interesting, it has been bookmarked on my computer.

IGIG.com review on eXaminer.com

June 20th 2009 19:50
I was contacted a short while ago to do a site reveiw on IGIGI.com. I wrote it up and published it to eXaminer.com. They have also offered to send me a product to reveiw for them as well. If you are interested in viewing the site review on the eXaminer.com click here.

I have also been asked to view and write a review on another site. Stay tuned to this in a couple of days. The site owner is also looking for a few good writers. I will add her information when I have finished the review

Goodwill hunting

June 19th 2009 02:51
A question came to mind. I have been reviewing my many articles that I have written and blog on my various sites and realize that for the most part I have been catering to business attire or formal. I had recently done and article on uniform scrubs, but I think I need to focus on women who are just barely getting ahead. Why do people with good jobs get all the limelight? I set off to see if I could find places that I could get stylish clothing for plus-size women on a shoe string budget. I decided, in one of my afternoon’s off, to see what I could find.

Wouldn’t you know it? I did not have to go far down the road to find a place called Goodwill Industries or commonly known as Goodwill. I walked inside and at first I was overwhelmed. Why? It was filled with people and stuff! Not scattered around, but placed in areas of interest. There was a wonderful place in the back of the store filled and I mean filled with every type of book you could imagine. They had set up a rather large book shelving unit that took up a whole corner of the store in the back. They had comfy couches and chairs just waiting for you to sit and flip through the pages of books before you purchased them

Colors of summer

June 14th 2009 01:40
This summer is kicking with color. The lively greens, yellows, fushias and even the wild safari prints are all the rage. I say pair that lively solid bright green with a pair of white sandles! Some places I have seen wonderful plus-size fashions with flair for color are Newport News.

This summer is the summer for shimmery accessories, like shoes, chunky jewelry and belts. See my picks for Summer 2009:
Check out Newport News when looking into this years fabulous colors.
